Larry Ledrew Harvey, a native of Woodland, GA, was born on April 20, 1951, to the late Deacon Eugene and Annie Bell Harvey. He joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He loved to sing and was a member of the gospel group The Southern Wonders.
He attended Ruth Carter High School, Talbotton, GA, where he had many friends. He could light up any room, and he found pure joy in making those around him laugh. He had a beautiful spirit. His favorite phrase was “I’m gon be Larry.” He developed a love for driving and was employed as a driver for several companies to include working as a transporter for CSX Railways. Larry’s passion for driving and his extensiveknowledge of highway routes made him the go-to-person whenever friends and family needed a ride. No destination was ever too far or unfamiliar for him, and we always felt confident and grateful knowing we could rely on his expertise.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann ParkerHarvey; two brothers (Sammy and Bruce) and a sister (GloriaHardnett).
As his purpose on earth ended February 8, 2026, he leaves to cherish his memory 6 children: Anthony (Becca) Floyd, Montgomery, AL; Meika Givens, Youngstown, OH; Juvonda Terry, Austintown, OH; Darren (Nekita) Leonard, LaGrange, GA; Andreas (Sharonda) Harvey, Shiloh, GA; Damien Hamler, Boston, MA; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one greatgrandchildren; seven siblings: Rubye Hardnett, Woodland, GA; Dora Mitchell, Atlanta, GA; Henry Gene (Pat) Harvey, Newnan, GA; Robert (Clara) Harvey, Sr., Los Angeles, CA; Perry (Joyce)Harvey, Manchester, GA; Lillie Amos, Kingsland, GA; Bernice Parker, Woodland, GA; one adopted brother Leroy (Erica) Grant, East Point, GA; one brother-in-law, Oscar Hardnett, Fayetteville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
